Location and character of the hotel were the best features. Friendly and helpful staff.Room is not comfort, the staff is cold and bad breakfast.

Location, walking distance to everything.The room was very tired-looking: old furniture and bathroom fittings which ideally need to be replaced to be truly clean. The street below was incredibly noisy, as were the guests coming in at night, and as a solo traveller that was a bit threatening as the door lock was fairly flimsy. Not a complete non-return, but for the money I think HIExpress or similar would have been safer and more comfortable. Check-in staff on my arrival were extremely friendly and efficient, but on leaving at 7.20am the staff member couldn't use the computer easily and kept switching between dealing with my own swift check-out need and another customer's very complex billing query, meaning that in reality neither of us were adequately serviced. This was incompetent and really frustrating on a day when I had to work.

Very convenient location, walking distance to everywhere in downtownOur room was facing the rooftop volleyball court, and we heard the noiseeven the window closed. The bed was too soft and uncomfortable. No desk,coffee/tea maker & mini fridge. Tv was poor quality

Central location, convenient for dining and shopping. Outdoor parkingnearby and cheap.Room is small and crowded ( only 2 adults) . No coffee maker.

The location was very convenient for buses going to the University of Victoria. Although most of the furnishings were quite old, the mattress was very comfortable.Very old and stained carpet, squishy space, no table to write on, noconvenient outlets for laptops or cell phones, tiny bathroom. No coffeemaker or cups, no kettle either. Small old tv. The tiny portable ironboard is not convenient to use. Very noisy outside at night. Breakfasthas few options. Hardly anyone touches the small oranges and greenapples that are all the fruits. Wifi in our room is almost non-existent, veeeery difficult to get signals, takes a few minutes to openone page if u r lucky. As a result, I'm expecting a higher cellphone bill for overusing the 4g data. And u get charged for local callsusing the room phone. What's more, the headboard looked stained anddirty, probably not cleaned for a long time , the blanket and bedcoverall look dirty.

The antique cachet. Heritage building with lots of character. Greatlocation. Reasonable rates.We had the room booked from 3.00 PM but it wasn't ready until 3.15. Not a huge deal, but as a matter of principal, I find it unacceptable - after all, we paid for the room from 3 o'clock.Booked and was told we were given a quiet room but had noisy and drunk neighbours coming home at 2:30 am waking us up and keeping us awake for over an hour.
