Formerly the historic Hotel Waterloo, which hosted Queen Elizabeth II’s entourage on her 1953 Coronation Tour, the hostel features elegant staircases, high ceilings and a café in the old ballroom.
Wellington Railway Station is only 200 metres from Wellington Hotel Waterloo & Backpackers. It is an 8-minute walk to TSB Arena and a 12-minute walk to Westpac Stadium.
Private and shared rooms are available. All rooms include heating and bed linen is provided. Each private room has a work desk and cable TV. Secure lockers are provided for all guests.

V close to late arriving ferry.clean bathroom with bright,pleasant floor tiles and clean sink,shower, and towels that were newish and pleasant to use.flannels too - always useful.liked having own kettle and cups as well as e suite as we are an older couple.Comfy bed and clean, cotton linen.Ambiguous pricing in the bar. The lazy buggers who didn't washtheir dishes.

Excellent location. Friendly and helpful staff.Great place to stay if you are looking for backpacker / economy accommodation.bathroom was not as clean as should have been. i realsie the staff were run off thier feet after the sevens and i should have complained at the time.
