friendly relaxed atmosphere--great staff--all very helpful, caring and genuinely friendly.Bed very comfortable, Room well decorated and clean.Excellent breakfastLittle bit of a walk to centre and train. Bathroom was clean but floor in bedroom was not vacuumed on arrival light fittings dusty when I complained things did not improve much even though they did send someone up.

lovely hotel, staff were very friendly and welcoming. beautiful room with 4 poster bed and tea/coffee making facilities. A realistic 10 minute walk into city centre where there is an abundance of lovley restaurants and pubs. food at hotel also excellent.We felt the price was too expensive for this type of room as it was very small and compact. Not enough room to be comfortable. We would not stay more than say 1 or 2 nights but we would probably not want to stay here in the future.

I liked everything about the hotel. We were given a larger room because the manager noticed the amount of luggage we had in tow and helped us transport it to our room. All of the staff were extremely friendly and one even offered to walk us downtown.

This was our second visit to Chester and the Brookside Hotel this year and we plan a return next Spring. Onceagain we were very impressed with the staff, service and food.It is a very well run family hotel and nothing is too much trouble for the excellent staff. I wouldhappily return as a single traveller.I'm a very light sleeper and found there was some road noise even with being on the top floor

The staff were very good. The breakfast was excellent. Good position - quiet - felt nice. Good facilities in hotel and room.The only down point was Richard- who I would describe as not being customer friendly and was quite hurtful in a remark he made to me which he didn't seem bothered by the upset caused. On other occasions he didn't seem attentive- we were left waiting for menus and also his service at the bar wasn't customer friendly. I was very surprised on setting the bill to discover he is one of the owners.My husband would stay again whereas I am not so sure because of him- he certainly didn't make me feel a valued customer which considering we stayed there 2 nights and spent over £200 I would like a good customer service experience.

friendly and comfortable. Lots of sofas! Excellent breakfast.The bar prices were extortionate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My husband and I had 1 drink each & when we were told the cost we were absolutely gobsmacked followed by disgusted. Another drink each & we would have paid for the whole bottle.

Anna and Ian gave a friendly and cheerful service and worked hard to please. We thought they were the highlight of the hotel. The hotel is quaint in a good way- it's decor and rooms are in keeping with the age of the building. The room we had as a small double was bigger than we expected and very clean. It was warm and cosy. The food was of a high standard with a good range on the breakfast menu. We chose this after reading the reviews which matched the hotel.Very cluttered all over!! I would have expected a larger room as we hada four poster at an extra charge!

We spent two nights there. We enjoyed the old style hospitality.We were in room 2. It was quite small. Not much room to move round the bed. I have a slight problem with my leg and that was not comfortable with the narrow space. The bed was too small.

The staff was so helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them. We can't speak highly enough of the staff. We only ate breakfast at the hotel but it was of such a good standard. Would definately stay here again.Was disapointed with our room. I thought it was very small and cramped and missed having a bath.

It`s location. It`s rooms/public areas are so clean they sparkle !Wonderful staff. Reasonable prices.We felt it would have been good to have had rubber bath mats - as bath could be slippy when showering.Also grip handles in bath / shower would have improved safety.

The hotel staff were friendly and attentive. The room, although not the largest we have ever stayed in, was clean and comfortable. We were very pleased with the ensuite facilities which had been refurbished to a good modern standard. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice of hot and cold food on offer. A big bonus was free on site parking which many of the other hotels in the city charged for.Can't think of any negatives for the price we paid.
