Friendly staff and helpful in providing information about city happenings.Not much - although it might have been good to have free wi-fi as my niece used it a lot.

Location, friendly staff, clean rooms.The noise. Neighbouring rooms were very easily heard and the gap under the main door to the room meant that all of the noise travelled in to the room (including the lifts which were right outside my door).

Great location, very nice hotel. Parking located very close by and at anexcellent price ($25/day with proof of stay at hotel, compared to about$50/day at regular price).

The hotels proximity to many dining and entertainment/leisure venues.Front desk and bellman are extremely friendly and courteous. Lobby andpassage areas were always neat and clean.There was a massive construction site right next door.The hotel never advised us on it so sleep was impossible!The staff were very rude at the front desk. Their rooms are incredibly small and dusty.Air con didn't work.Breakfast was dismal, served in plastic plates and cups.Wifi was not freeConsidering we paid $350/night which is the higher end to most hotels in the area, the experience was very poor.I would definitely not recommend this hotel.Go to the dream hotel, the stay or moderne (even though its the ameritnias sister hotel, it's much better and quieter at night)

The cleanliness and chic design of the room and bathroomMy name is Natalia Emeliantseva. I booked a room at Ameritania hotelfrom 08-12-12 to 08-19-12 by www.booking .com. But we stayed (me and myson) at this hotel from 08-12-12 to 08-16-12: we decided to leaveAmeritania Hotel and cancelled up to 1 day before the date of deparue, Imean we cancelled 08-15-12. I have information invoice that I paid973.32 $ by credit card for those 4 nights. After that we mooved toanother hotel Best Western hotel (I did it also by booking.com, stayedthere for 3 nights from 08-16-12 to 08-19-12 and I have a confirmationabout it. But after that 08-19-12Ameritania hotel wrote off 213$ andalso wrote off 516$ from my card. For what? As I understand it was amistake. Be so kind to help me and I want to have my money back.Emeliantseva Natalia

The location is excellent!Some of the rooms (which are updated, such as ours) are a 10'x12' roomwith a full size bed (ouch!! I busted my toe again on the bed post!) anda micro sized (albeit functional) bathroom.truly two peas in a podwhile in this room. Arriving at JFK at 11pm, then the ensuing taxi ride to the Ameritania, we arrived with our two other family guests at the hotel just before midnight. Our other family members checked in, then the clock ticked to midnight plus one, incurring to my charge the "NO SHOW" fee of $150.00. At check-out I took notice of this, and after explaining to the front desk clerk the time delay at check-in, he forgave the charge, but still, what if I hadn't noticed? In the end, thank you to the staff for their professionalism and understanding.

Location was perfect! Few blocks from Times Square and Central Park and shopping. The staff was extremely helpful and our room was very nice. We stayed in a king deluxe and despite what I tea in other reviews our room was not small at all. I'm not sure what people are expecting when staying in NYC but if your looking for a nice, clean, and affordable hotel this is definitely the place to stay. We can't wait to go back again!Payed Internet, (probably you won't believe me but) lack of a place to hang your clothes?!?! (a definite no-go for business trips!).

Friendly staff; pleasant surroundings; good locationA little high for the room. Hated the decor. Loved that the windows opened so we could let in fresh air. Bathroom very small but loved the shower. Staff was very nice.

Located a short walk from the heart of times square and all the broadway theatres. Great modern place. I extended my stay here are staying for 4 nights with family in the king suite.My toilet was running the whole night and there is a construction site next door. The double room is small but is comfortable for one and even two.

Great value for the nyc price point - I was apprehensive after readingreviews on other sites until I realized that the negative reviews musthave been written by those unfamiliar with nyc. Rooms were clean, staffwas helpful, bathrooms were sparkling. Location was perfect - blocksfrom center of Times Square/Theater district. If this is your first tripto nyc and you're expecting a breakfast bar, a pool and a workout room,and extra space to stash extra guests or kids in room - you'll bedisappointed. But if you're looking for a clean and safe place to restyour head, this is a great value.The room a/c was very noisy, it was almost impossible to sleep when itwas on. I had to go to the front desk to ask for ice because there wasno ice machine on my floor (11th) or on the 10th floor.
