Centrally located in Nelson, the 4-star Rutherford Hotel is within easy walking distance of the city’s main shopping streets and the landmark cathedral. Guests will enjoy complimentary WiFi.

The hotel has 113 spacious and comfortable guest rooms, which are decorated in a modern, contemporary style. Each room has a modern en suite bathroom with complimentary Manuka Spa Toiletries.

Oceano Restaurant and Port O Call Bar are Open for Breakfast, Dinner, Bar Meals and Drinks.

The Rutherford Hotel Nelson is well-placed for cycling and exploring the sandy beaches, blue seas and mountains of the surrounding area. A number of art galleries are also in the vicinity.

In an effort to better serve our guests, Rutherford Hotel Nelson is proud to announce a refurbishment project. Your stay will soon be even more enhanced by upgraded landscaping, guestrooms, lobby, restaurant and bar as well as a new gym and new conference rooms.

We are excited to give our guests a better experience than ever before. Whether you will be travelling for business or for leisure, or coming to our hotel to host an event, the beautification will enhance your stay in Nelson.

During the refurbishment process, the hotel will stay open, and we’ll try our best to minimise the nuisance to our guests. Some noise might occur during business hours from 10am to 4pm from Monday to Friday.

The refurbishment will be finalised by end of 2025.
