made welcome,room very nice.location very good.Only problem we had was our room was looking onto a street at the back which had a night club, open until 3am and the noise was disturbing. I didn't sleep well, which would affect my decision to choose this hotel again.

The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful and on par with its 5 star class. Room was clean, spacious, many options included, such as cable tv, movies, laundry (2 items per night), mini bar, and the room we were in had a great view of St. Giles.Very difficult to be served in the bar at night.Took 20 moniutes to be served

Very friendly, good size rooms,plenty of well located mirrors, excellent and friendly restaurant.There is no concierge service, everything is done by reception - andthis is not ideal.I asked to book a traditional Scottish restaurant for 10pm - but it turned out that that place was a pub, not a restaurant, and the kitchen closed at 10pm, so dinner plans were ruined. When I asked for alternatives, the reception tried to send me to some 24/7 pizza place in another part of the city "because everything else is closed", and we decided just to go to Pizza Express next door. This is not the type of service you expect from a 5-star hotel.In addition, there is no one to help you to hail a cab outside (because the porter is usually helping somebody else with the luggage). This is not a big deal, but again, you have certain expectation from a 5-star hotel, otherwise it is unclear why you would pay their clearly overpriced rates.

Stayed at the hotel for 3 nights and loved it. Was a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. Staff were very friendly. Room was gorgeous and very comfortable. Lovely views of the castle. Great location for bars and restaurant. Loved the free minibar which was stocked up daily. Would definitely stay here again. Can't wait to go back. :)can't think of anything

It wasnicely located on a hil above the cityl. Lovely view of the castle. Wish my stay was longer so that I would have been able to do it more justice.

Amazingly comfortable bed. Lovely toiletries, stylish room, Security very good, felt safe as a solo female traveller. Breakfast - good choice and tasty. Good service.

Excellent, welcoming staff. Lovely touches, such as complimentary mini bar, nespresso machine, robes & slippers, etc. Comfortable room, quirky decor, great location.I was in a twin room and would have preferred to have a 3/4 sized bed rather than a single.

Room was spacious and clean. Staff were welcoming and helpfulOnly point, was not keen on bar area, layout and look.Also ordered a mojito cocktail which consisted of crushed ice, more crushed ice and a dribble of liquid at the bottom of the glass!!!! But really - a lovely hotel.

Superb location in the old town but within easy walking distance of the new town.Everything was lovey, very modern and clean.Staff were extremely helpful and friendly.Nothing. I adored the hotel and would stay again.

Stylish, modern, relaxed, very welcoming and superb service. A greatbar, terrific restaurant, superb decor.Bedroom, while very comfortable- great bed, was small, a corner space. Does booking in advance through you cause one to get less than best? Wonderful bathroom/shower.

Great hotel in prime location, near to lots of nice pubs and restaurants within walking distance. Very attentive knowledgable staff .Could make the turndown service a little later in the evening they came anytime between 6 & 7 in the evening to do it so we never managed this service as we were getting ready to go out at this time.

Attention to detail from the staff was amazing. The place is modern and very clean and with a free mini bar, coffee machine and films excellant freebies!There was nothing I disliked about it. Unfortunately it was a little too farfrom the Heriott Watts University where my nephew was staying.

Extremely helpful and polite staff. The hotel itself is great. Just astone throw to the city main attractions and not far from the trainstation (5 minutes walking). It is located at a corner of the RoyalMile! The room is spacious, the bed is great and you have complimentaryNespresso/tea machines and minibar.I had to leave
