The reception area is very welcoming the staff were thoughtful and helpful. Location was good for wither walking into city centre or getting a bus. The rooms were OK beds very comfortable.Breakfasts were reasonable but could have been warmer. Staf all over the hotel were extremely polite and helpfulI feel the money for the room we chose the seats could have been more comfortable, they were more like garden chairs. The pillows certainly need renewing they are very hard, which did not compliment the comfort of the bed. Did miss the biscuits with the tea/coffee.

very pleasant staff, very helpfull, even down to the head chef when i had a problem with something he helped sort it out and it wasnt even food related!!!the bar is so nice and relaxing had so many yummy cocktails. i shall defo return back there at my next stay at edinburgh.No internet in the room.

The stylish rooms were a bit different, somewhat resembling a renovated boarding school room in a quirky way. The bathroom was clean and the view out to the castle (as requested) was pleasing. The staff were one of the best I have come across in UK and Europe to date. The location was also excellent.My only complaints would be the breakfast which, for 14 pounds a head was not worth given the burnt "french toast" and poor selection of items, and the foyer on our room's level which resembled the interior of a school.

Good location, friendly staffover priced menus, empty non welcoming hallways upstairs, carpets were ruffled and worn, no proper light fitting, kettle didnt work,heatin wSnt that great no double glazing.

Loved the view from our room (room 320) Great big couch in room for lounging on enjoying a few in-room drinkies before heading out at night. Large bed, slept like a log all night.Nothing, the staff could hardly speak English, the reception was a cover for the state of the rooms which smelt like an old night club. Leaking taps all over the room floor. Room service just made the beds.Breakfasts was clearly brought to a budget and was inedible. £16 a night for parking. Bargain 'I think not!'

Great location, Excelent staff attitude, value for money & really quirky hotelBreakfast was poor and very costly, selection of bar food was poor. Having to pay for internet access in the room was crazy like £15/24hrs.Parking was a nightmare and it cost 7/day

Clean and comfortable.There was alot of noise coming from the roof early one morning before 7.30am. We phoned reception who told us there was repair work being done. We had not been informed this would be going on and feel it is unacceptable to have that knid of noise so early in a hotel. When I made a complaint however, the reception staff were very understanding and apologetic and offered us complimentary breakfast.

We did have a nice stay and have stayed there before.The staff were very friendly and attentive.However the reception as I know in most hotels is very impressive as is this one, but the corridors and carpets leading to the rooms leaves a lot to be desired, the rooms howeverare nice and we got a good deal for the weekend so I can't really complain.I do feel that the star rating for this hotel is not correct and had I payed the full room price would have been annoyed.Location is good and close to all the main streets and shopping.They really need to spruce things up a bit im afraid.Good location, excellent staff

Location ! Nothing else unfotunately.The price did not reflect the state of the hotel. Thread bare carpetseverywhere, very stark walls not one picture ! Looked like a block offlats not an £129 per night hotel !! Not truely represented on theirwebsite !!

Location is central. Very clean and comfortable.Rooms are a bit basic but if you get a good deal worth going there.Only issue may be that if you are going in summer there was no air conditioning in our room
